October 1971, Superboy #178, Page #14, End Page, (1st story), Bob Brown pencils/Murphy Anderson inks, "Pawn of the Monster-Makers!", This is one of my favorite comics from my youth; Even thought I started reading Superboy with issue #191, this issue is the first DC back issue I ever bought. The story is engraved in my psyche forever! I remember finding it in a comic shop in Brooklyn, which I stumbled on, near my house. iT WAS 1972. I bought five comics that day - my first 5 back issues; the other four were Marvel comics - an Iron Man #3, Sub-Mariner #4, Tales of Suspense #84, and Thor #147. Cost? about $13! A ton of money back then. I was so nervous I spent that kind of money on comics that I sneaked them into my house and did not tell anyone for years.
