September 1973, Sub-Mariner #65, Page #1 Splash, Don Heck pencils/Don Perlin inks, (John Romita re-drew the face of the Sub-Mariner and maybe his body too!), "The Cry of the She-Beast", a great splash of the Monarch of the Seas, The Mighty Sub-Mariner, humbled in chains; Don Heck's short run of drawing Sub-Mariner began in issue #64 (which was the issue that the late, great Steve Gerber also began writing) and ended with issue #68, only 5 issues; Heck's pencils in issue #64 to issue #66 were inked by the great Don Perlin; I think the collaboration between these two great artists was incredible; Sub-Mariner #65 introduces the "She-Beast", a female warrior stronger than ever the mighty Sub-Mariner! The story continued into issue #66, which is one of my favorite storylines!
