June 1973, Sub-Mariner #62, Page #17 Splash, End Page, Sam Kweskin pencils/Frank Giacoia inks, “A Realm Besieged!”, A classic Bronze Age splash written by the great, late Steve Gerber (Howard the Duck and Man-Thing). It was drawn by a great Golden Age artist, Irving Sam Kweskin, who came back to Marvel in the 1970s and took over the Sub-Mariner title for a few issues for Bill Everett when Bill fell ill. He did the layouts for issues #58-60, which Bill Everett inked, and then he drew two issues, #62 and #63, before Don Heck took over the title. This great splash was inked by my favorite Bronze Age inker, Frank Giacoia, who was one of the greatest inkers in the history of comics. The page features the Monarch Supreme, the Mighty Sub-Mariner and his cousin Namorita fighting the Hydro-Men!
